Let’s help get this dog back!

I received this e-mail today:

Hi Matt,
…This is my puppy, she ran away Friday 10/19. She was last seen Sunday (10/21) morning on Maxwell Road (near rt.9). She just moved to that area so shes not really familiar with the neighborhood. She used to live in Troy. I still live in Troy, so if she manages to find her way home I’ll be here waiting…
She is terrified of other people and from the reports I’ve gotten she is just running as fast as she can (which sounds like her). She is most likely just so scared out on her own and probably won’t approach anyone. I’m really just hoping someone else spots her and can give me some sort of location…. who knows which way she has decided to run now..
She is a tan basset mix, almost 4 years old, about 40-50 lbs, and has short legs.
If anyone sees her/catches her please call me 518-257-6563 or her father 518-729-0682.
Thank you so much for your time,
-Megan

If anyone has any information, please contact Megan ASAP.

Can you post this on any sites that have experience on how to catch skittish dogs? Usually when they get hungry enough they come around,I’ve heard. It breaks my heart. On another note, maybe we can somehow petition to add more animal control officers on the city/town payrolls. There are simply not enough. Sorry, venting? Just so sad because it happens so often…. :(

I agree Edna, there should be more animal control officers.

But on a great note, we found her tonight!!!! So she is finally safe. :)

lealorali, fortunately her father found her so he was able to walk right up to her. I don’t know what would’ve happened if one of us hadn’t spotted her because she is so scared of everyone….all the sightings were helpful though, that’s how we zeroed in on her location.
She was on 378 and he was driving around looking and there she was!
