For starters, I understand that we can’t please everyone all the time at the restaurants. If I could, I would have to be serving vodka tacos. (wait a minute….!!)
And granted I’m biased because I own the joint, but I really do eat the food at Bombers all the time. I call in my food order anonymously, and make sure the food is prepared and presented how it’s supposed to be.
Sometimes there are mistakes, but consistently I get delicious food when I order Bombers. I particularly LOVE their smoked BBQ chicken, our quesadillas and the burritos and wraps. And their Grey Goose.
But if you don’t love the food there, I appreciate hearing constructively critical comments which I try to use to our advantage and improve things.
But the upsetting part is when people start making comments on Yelp about me personally, claiming to know something about me, or have heard something about me. It’s fucked up. I feel like those comments shouldn’t be allowed.
I don’t even know this chimpanzee above (or is that an orangoutang? I always get them confused).
Or do I?
And what does he mean “I was being trash talked about all the people there as well” ?? By who? What’d they say?
great, now I’m not going to sleep tonight.
If you have had a nice meal over the past few months at Bombers, please tell Yelp.
And can you also tell Yelp that I’m not a bad person :(

The only “issues” I’ve ever had at Bombers was inattentive staff upstairs. Some of those reviews I think are coming from hipster-hating-hipsters who take any opportunity to shit on something most people like.

Woww @Andrew, that is my only issue at Bombers. The waitstaff seems not to be with it at times. But my food is always GREAT & consistent Matt. I always get the wings (the Best) and the Salad with the Shredded Chicken. Ohh, of course always a few cocktails at the bar too.

1– You have a great heart and always have. Those who know you know that. People are jealous- you can’t change them. You can, however choose to not accept their negative comments and energy into your life. Sometimes it’s hard to do but if you do need to think about thier crappy comments do so only for a minute- then be done.
2- Contact Yelp. They are notorious for focusing on the negative posts and making sure they are the first ones read. They have been sued by other establishments as well.

Sorry to hear that, but I think most savvy yelp readers can see past personal rants like these without any factual information to back it up. Because yelp is anonymous people can and will say whatever they. It’s pretty obvious this guy is trolling. What does you being either a “good” or “bad” guy have to do with the quality of the food? Don’t get it… Keep calm and move on.

I don’t know what Yelp is but I will yelp and bark all over town what great establishments you run and the beauty of your character. Don’t take the negative to heart. We love you! Now,about those vodka tacos….. :)

Two things. First, anyone who says “x has trash talked being about people blah blah blah” doesn’t even make sense to begin with. Second, you (and other readers) must take Yelp with a grain of salt. I’ve seen people give a 1 star review and then complain for paragraphs on end about the traffic to get there. Beeeeecause that has anything to do with the restaurant or service or ANYTHING RELEVANT.

I stopped going to Bombers about four years back due to inattentive service. The last straw was (and I suppose you could argue my kid was the real deviant here) but it was back when there was paper laid across the upstairs table and candles. We had ordered wings and had a big stack of napkins, my kid was grabbing napkins and caught the candle flame. Paniced, she dropped the napkins on to the table cloth – which of course started to burn. Our wings were in a paper boat, so we couldn’t try to beat out the flame…. so anyways, the dining room inhabitants were looking on in horror but none of the wait staff even notices! My husband and I douse the flames with our pints. Still the wait staff doesn’t notice. Our server comes back to check on us and doesn’t mention the charred paper or the pool of beer on the table – so we took a Bombers break. HOWEVER, I came back this past summer and the service and food were wonderful and I have been back several times since. The wings were phenomenal – so I’m really glad I ventured back. Also, I have always had great service at Wolfs and, well the one time I went to Olde English.

@MsLiebowitz…. we have never, ever, put table cloths on the tables at Bombers. Never. I’m glad you’ve came back to Bombers, though.

It wasn’t cloth, like butcher paper covering the table, upstairs dining room, one of the small tables against the window. I don’t know exactly what it was but there was paper on the table – you remember when and where your kid sets fire to a table.

My boyfriend and I eat at Bombers once a week. It means we get yummy food, and the dog gets a nice walk and a bunch of attention from your staff – who remember his food allergy and only give him the treats I provide.
Firstly, the fact that your staff remember us is amazing with the number of people that come in and out of there.
Secondly, the fact that they remember his food allergy is … there aren’t even words. Our dog park friends don’t even remember that!
Your staff deserve recognition for the customer service they provide, especially with the public they deal with. YOU deserve recognition for hiring and training them!
I created a Yelp account just to leave a positive review, and I’m constantly (and loudly) singing your praises to the general public for the services you provide both charitable and otherwise. If someone can’t see that, I hope he or she falls face first in a pile of runny dog poo!

I agree with above commenters…great food, great owner, but the service can be hit or miss. Sometimes I feel like they’re a little too cool for school upstairs; it’s weird, because the service at all your other places (including Schtdy) is great!

I’ve seen a number of articles recently about yelp issues…
http://pixsym.com/blog/reputation-management/yelp-extortion-the-lawsuits-dismissed-are-they-back-at-it-in-2012
I usually end up at the Schenectady Bombers due to the municipal parking garage being available for use in the evening (easy parking).

People will say anything when they can do so anonymously…with absolutely no fear of being held accountable. Cowards. Spineless cowards, that’s all they are.
If you feel that strongly about your point of view, be a man (or woman) and put your name and face next to your words, not some bs moniker and a fake picture. I have little respect, if any, for people like that.
Yelp is losing credibility every day…it’s the MySpace of review websites.
I probably go to Bombers a dozen times a year, only once have I had a negative experience…and it had nothing to do with the food, it’s always been consistent and delicious. If it wasn’t, the last thing I’d do is run home and log onto some website and tell the world about it…that’s what managers are there for. If you’re having an issue, speak to the person in charge…plus, it’s not like Matt is a hard guy to find. This doofus could have easily shot Matt an e-mail and stated his issues. Yelping about it doesn’t do any good, just makes the person look like a b&tch.

I would state the opposite of this Yelp post. I celebrated my wedding in the Schenectady area and we stayed at the Hampton inn across the street from bombers in Schenectady. We went over Friday night after the rehearsal dinner and had drinks and shots and so much fun! We had so much fun and great drinks we went back the next night for an after party. The staff was great, the food yum ( vegetarian tacos are yum!) and they gave me a huge bridal margarita which everyone loved. We took a ton of photos with that huge margarita and made lots of great memories. Nice job Bombers. Would recommend to anyone who wants good fun, good eats and great cocktails.

Jeremy Stoppelman CEO of Yelp is a real winner. Well, no, not really. This man runs a company that not only thrives on negative attention, but refuses to respond to legitimate concerns.
Don’t take my word for it. See here for yourself what others are saying about this company:
