Pretty cool, but after a year or two, would the Lark St car/bus exhaust, dust and bird poop take it’s toll on the umbrellas? This portugal picture makes it look like a pedestrian-only street, which may be easier on the umbrellas. Still though, it might be better than the lights since there wouldn’t be any electricity costs w/ umbrellas and the rain might wash off the dirt they collect.

This kind of reminds me of the Chihuly (glass sculptor) glass ceiling in the lobby of the Bellagio in Vegas.
