A martini is a terrible thing to waste.

I love emails like these.

It’s not often people take the time to send unnecessary, kind emails, but every so often some are sandwiched in between Linkedin emails and emails from my college asking me for money.  (as if $120,000 wasn’t enough).

I just got back from my trip and a friendly young lady named Laurel sent me the following email:

Hi, Matt–

About seven years ago, I met a guy at Bombers during a friend’s birthday dinner.  Last week, we got married.  I have so many terrific memories of parties, trivia nights, and dinners with friends at Bombers, and it’s pretty great to add “the place where I met my husband” to that list.  I simply feel like I owe you a thank you.  Any future branches on our family tree (kids, dogs, or houseplants) will be directly attributed to humongous burritos and giant birthday margaritas.
Have a great day,
Laurel
Thank you, Laurel, for the kind email.  I sincerely appreciate it.  You will be receiving an email from Sarah H. who will be sending you something special.

As the friend whose birthday it was, I’m super-excited that my friends have made it street legal, but I have to admit that–because of the birthday margarita, no doubt–I have no memories of that night.

When I moved to Albany in 02ish…. I had no car, and barely any money – however, Bombers was literally two doors down… I lived on the corner of Hudson. Every night….. I’m not kidding – every night – would get a burrito there, split it and use one half for dinner, one half for lunch the next day.

When I got a job and “moved on up” I moved to the OTHER side of bombers on the corner of Jay…. and then I got knocked up – between bombers hot wings, alex’s bodega chocotacos & ben and jerry’s anything with nuts and chocolate sauce on it I was a happy preggo mama!

My first 6 years were BOMBERFULL….. then, I moved out to Sand Lake and like Matt, discovered the deliciousness of the Towne Tavern, Uncle Marty’s, KAYS!!!!! for the love of god, KAYS!!!! BUT…. still gotta do bombers at least 2x a month – the fish taco additional … amazingly delicious goodness.

Laurel found love, yay! ….. i found a fat ass and a margarita addiction <3
