A martini is a terrible thing to waste.

Spring Cleaning.

There are going to be some pretty significant changes happening around here on Friday Puppy.

For starters, I’ve given the other writers some time off to collect their unemployment thoughts, and I’m going to post from now on.  Keeping it simple and possibly not too often.  But at least the blog will feel a little more focused and consistent.  No criticism to the other writers, but the blog was developing an identity crisis.   And there’s room for only one identity crisis around here.

If you’d like to follow Carlene on Twitter, click HERE.  David, click HERE.  Lianne, click HERE .  Craig, click HERE.   Eric, click HERE.  Or follow me, click HERE.  Or I’m sure you can leave a comment on this post, and they’ll get back to you.

We are going to be changing Friday Puppy to a Not-For-Profit, and all our ads are going to be basically free with a small donation to the organization.  More to come on that.

I’d be happy to hear about some other changes you’d like to see on the blog.   Please leave a comment below or send your suggestion to FridayPuppy@gmail.com

Thank you for reading the blog.

Where does one go to follow Pete? Or will he stay on the blog? I love his photographs.

I have really enjoyed your guest writers, but I have to admit that I have missed your voice. I am looking forward to hearing more from you on this blog, the original reason I started tuning in every morning. Looking forward to the changes… and kudos for going not-for-profit. You are clearly a leader in our community, and no magazine had to tell us that. We already knew.

I’ll stick around no matter what. Only suggestion…more pictures of you, Frank and Nico!

I’m fine with having multiple authors, but it was always very easy to miss who the author was before beginning to read. Being your blog, I always assumed you were writing until halfway through the article when something didn’t sound right.

Some other blogs with multiple writers make the authors a bit more visually prominent. For example, you should show an avatar (like your comments) along with the name in big bold letters, all in its own space between the headline and article. Right now it’s kind of tucked away.

Also, I’d like to see something different with comment moderation. Maybe you could hide new, unmoderated comments, but let the reader display them if they so chose. (With the except, of course, of the “be the 25th commenter” giveaways.)

Well I have been tuning in daily since I first saw you on the TU and however you run this blog (it is yours to run) and @ Hopeful, I agree I am here to stay also and we need more Niko, Frank and Matt…….

To all the guest writers, I really enjoyed your posts and I hope you continue elsewhere. Matt, perhaps if any of your guests have blogs you could include them in “Our Favorite Links” section for those of us that don’t do twitter. Thanks!

Thanks Matt. It was getting more ADD than usual and I kind of stopped following along.

Happy the multiple authors are leaving, no offense authors. I agree with the identity crisis diagnosis. I appreciate your self-deprecating humor, which is one of the reasons I started reading the blog. I found myself reading the blog a lot less since they joined and you post less.

With just you and Pete it can go back to being a little more puppy-centric. I approve!
