It’s exciting to see downtown Albany finally getting some cool residential buildings in the works.
One of the new buildings, 17 Chapel, is having a “2012 Vanguard Showhouse” which will be  open to the public  Tuesdays – Sundays until May 20th during the following hours:
Tuesdays & Fridays: 10:30 AM – 4:00 PM
Wednesdays & Thursdays: 10:30 AM – 7:00 PM
Saturdays: 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Sundays: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM
I’m not quite sure what the word Vanguard means, but I have seen these apartments and they are really beautiful.
And one amazing perk of this building is the partnership they now have with Hounds on the Hudson to provide dog walking services! Â Love Hounds on the Hudson.
p.s. when you visit their website for these condos, don’t’ be fooled, I swear it’s not a Symphony Hall.

I’m not sure where “Vanguard” came from as well – but I do know that they are a volunteer group for the Albany Symphony Orchestra and their annual showhouse event raises funds for the ASO.

Crazy expense and if you don’t mind having a view of a parking lot.

I went today. Gorgeous building. It was really fun to see the different unit layouts and the different designs. Except for that one really angry designer who had to do a tiny kids room and was really pissed off at the world and guarded the room like an angy cylon or something. There was a tub that filled from the ceiling, though. It was like the DIY channel IRL!
