A martini is a terrible thing to waste.

Excerpts from the Clark Kent realm of my Superman life

So…I forgot it was Valentine’s Day until JUST NOW!  One day away from Facebook and I’m already forgetting a minor holiday without other people to do the remembering for me.  Oops.

Anyhow, whilst I would love to regale the Puppies with more stories of drunken shenanigans spotted around town, this week I didn’t have enough time with my friends to get any writing-worthy scoops.  Instead of that, here are some snapshots into my week, and into my brain.

In the Clark Kent realm of my Superman life, I’m a corporate photographer.  I work for myself, which is sort of like having a bossy boss who expects me to do all the work and never lets me take a lunch break.  I’m also a terrible employee.

Here are three peeks of a fun photo shoot I did with my friend Jenn (with the fabulous Katie Pray as our set dresser) at the Women’s Club of Albany, which is a very cool organization and is great to join if you’re into being a woman and being part of a club.  You can also rent out their Victorian mansion for a huge discount if you’re a member, which I may do so I can cartwheel around their upstairs ballroom and play Chopsticks ad nauseum on their gorgeous Steinway baby grand piano.

Carlene From Skinny Puppy

The best sentence of the week, from a networking event I attended: “Oh, you’re Carlene from Skinny Puppy!  Yeah, someone was just talking about you and your pepper spray story!”  My fame precedes me…?

Came home to discover this resting in front of my steps:

Fake hair on the sidewalk

I love it because it means one of three things:

1.  This girl failed to notice a chunk of her fake hair fall from her head to the sidewalk.
2.  She ripped her fake hair off her own head.
3.  Someone ripped her fake hair off her head for her.

I loooove living in downtown Albany because this stuff keeps me entertained for days.

In other local news, Albany residents living near Washington Park will be very excited to hear that I have purchased an electric-powered racing buggy and will be hosting crazy racing matches on Saturdays in the park!!

Oh wait…that’s what the person in India who stole my credit card information was trying to do when they rang up $1,050 of hilariously inappropriate charges on my account.  Word of advice, buddy: next time, buy $1,000 worth of shoes and/or purses.  I can guarantee the bank won’t find that to be “suspicious activity.”

Laundry Day:

Boys doing laundry make me giggle: 27 mismatched socks without their mates.

Happy Valentine’s Day/Corporate Hallmark Sales/Who Cares Just Kiss Somebody Day!

You should donate that found hair to Locks of Love.

I’m disappointed the buggy racing in Washington Park is not a real thing. I was going to beg for a ride! :)

We have a girl here who takes photo of fake-hair-on-the-street too; it gets me everytime. I love the Women’s club, every spring they have a vendor fair and many events throughout, but alas I’m not into being a woman or that into clubs, so I guess I won’t join. I was kind of excited about the buggy racing too…maybe we have a thing here..thinking. Anywho, loved your post and I plop my socks in a clump and every morning I go on a search for a matching pair..I exclaim, “Eureka” everytime!

What size shoe are you because I’d love to walk in them for a week. Seriously, the craziest stuff stumbles into your life or onto your door step, literally. Never a dull moment with you Carlene. Hilarious!

Two things…I agree with Erika about I’d like the buggy ride too. Although, if you did buy it, I’m sure you could charge for rides and make the money back anyway!

Also, please tell me the socks belong to who I think they belong to.

@Jon: Who do you think the socks belong to…?

BTW – your model is gorgeous. She looks like Ginnifer Goodwin without the weird ears.
