Arguably my favorite night of the year (besides maybe Superbowl Saturday the night the Oscars are on) is the Saturday night at the end of August when the Burden Lake Improvement Association holds their Adult Lip Sync contest.
It’s pretty self explanatory, but just in case… it’s a night when adults get up on stage and lip sync to their favorite songs (i.e. no actual signing, they mouth the words to the tracks). Â They also wear costumes, they “choreograph” their dance routines, and pretty much everyone gets a little drunk. Â It’s so frickin’ fun. Â (I definitely don’t say the word “frickin” enough.)
I am not a performer. Â Instead, you can usually find me sitting at the beer counter with my other non-performer-friends talking about the amazing act we’re going to put together for next year. I literally have a a list going on my iPhone for potential songs. Â Topping the list is Joe Cocker’s “Help From My Friends”. Â Although, maybe a Ke$sha song is calling my name. Â who knows.)

Where are the hard hitting interviews about black face in the year 2011? I thought Scotty was digging up some gold behind the camera… I’ll assume the more controversial material will be available in the bonus features on the DVD. (P.S. perhaps this was what yikes was referring to…)

As a proud participant of the BL Adult Lip Sync (I’m Jennifer Nettles!!!) I would have to say that Matt you hit this right on the head with it absolutely being the best night of the summer for those of us lucky enough to spend our summers on the beautiful shores of Burden Lake !!! Can’t wait until next year!
