Are you the type of person who likes to spend your rent money on shots of Jameson? Â Do you use paper towels as toilet paper, tissues and notepad? Â Do you go the ATM machine and pray that money comes out?
We’ve all been there. Â I’ve been there a few times. Â I was so broke in college that I sold my meal plan back to the college for the money and ended up running out of cash weeks before the end of the semester, without a meal plan. Â Not good. Â (But thank god for ramen.)
Anyway, if you aren’t that great at managing your money (I’m not), I recommend you look into this website. Â It’s called Mint.com
It’s a simple website designed to help you organize, categorize and manage your spending (in a very easy to understand way). Â And most importantly, it sets realistic spending budgets for you. Â I recently started using it, and Mark has been using it for a while. Â However, he’s so annoying with it. Â He talks about it like it’s an actual person. Â ”Oh shoot, Mint.com is not gonna be happy that I just bought that”. Â And then I roll my eyes. Â And then he kisses me because I’m so fucking adorable.
Mark has been known to have one or seven too many Jack & Cokes and forgets the next morning that he bought the entire bar a round of shots. Â And Mint.com helps him with that. Â It links right up to your bank and your credit cards, and it shows you (in chart form) how much you’re spending on things you probably shouldn’t be spending a lot of money on (booze, porn, pleated pants, etc.)
So take a look at Mint.com I think you’ll like it. Â And, I think it will help you get your finances in line before the holidays ruin it anyway.
