The Miss Albany Diner is for sale. Â (you might not want to click on that link, it is one of the saddest little websites I’ve ever seen :(
Miss Albany Diner is the spot where I have my breakfast nearly every single morning I’m in Albany. Â I LOVE this place. Â Not only is it next door to a business that I own, but it is also about a 9 iron away from the house where I live.
Miss Albany Diner owner’s, Cliff and Jane, have owned the place for YEARS. Â And they’re ready to retire, so they’re looking to sell the business AND the building over to a good owner.
Listen, this is your moment to own your own business.  Opportunity is knocking.  I think this place could be really great for someone who is looking to get into the restaurant business.  It’s a relatively small place, but they have a very loyal following. It’s next door to Wolff’s Biergarten, which is always packed with people who are drunk and hungry.  And North Albany is going to boom any minute now, and you’re investment will triple!  (I am legally required to tell you that I am not an Economist.  Although, it was my major.  But you should know I graduated Summa Cum Lousy. )
Anyway, if this is something you are intersted in, please contact Jane at (518) 465-9148. They’re not closing down Miss Albany Diner, by the way. Â They’re just trying to find the right person to take over the greatest diner in the world (which, again, is located next to the greatest biergarten in the world :)
On a personal note, I’ll be sad to see Jane and Cliff (and Bill) move on from the Diner, I love those guys. Â But I am excited about whoever our new neighbors will be. Â You’re in for a lot of fun. Â And I’d be happy to personally meet with you to discuss the amazing potential that is… Miss Albany Diner.
(P.S. Â I don’t feel comfortable talking about the sale price on the blog, so please call Jane if you’re interested.)

That is so neat and wished I lived there. I love those little small town restaurants. They make you feel so welcomed and not like just another herd of cattle coming in.

This may be my favorite line you’ve ever written: ” … it is also about a 9 iron away from the house where I live.”
Sigh.

I waitressed there in the late 90′s for a couple of years to help pay for law school. Cliff and Jane are great people, the kindest you could ever come across. and their food is AMAZING!!! They will be missed and I have to get there before they hand over the reins. Love you Cliff and Jane!

Imagine doing old school “Americana” dinners out of this place. I can. :(

Sad news. They are leaving on top, though. Miss Albany has the best diner food in the area. If you haven’t been, go now and order the Mad Irish Toast. You’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

I don’t know the first thing about the business aspect (despite a PhD- (coming this January!) in Management) but I do know that I am hating my life right now because of work and have been looking into investing into real estate. Perhaps you could school me!! I’ll talk to hubby about it, see what you have to say, call Jane, marinate on it, and see where it takes us…..

I think you should have a party for them to celebrate their retirement. Turn a sad event into a happy event!

I brought somebody to Wolff’s on Friday night; who had never been there before, I know, shocking. Anywho, they seemed really interested in the Diner, it was explained to this person that it needed to stay the same and they agreed; as they had been there many times before. OK, so how did they miss Wolff’s? Anyway, I’ll give an update as information warrants.
