Halloween Party 2009.

So this Halloween Night (October 31st), Chris Pratt and I are hosting our annual Halloween Party.

Have you been to it before?  It’s in the Washington Park Lakehouse from 9:00pm  1:00am, and it’s about as much fun as you can have in a costume (I said about).    The party’s a fundraiser for the Lark St. BID, and it’s hands down my favorite party of the year.  Costume is absolutely 100% mandatory, or Melanie will throw you out.  ;)

It’s a total Dance Party USA.  Lots of Michael Jackson, Madonna, Prince, Stevie Wonder, Beyonce, etc.  Last year’s party was off the hizzle, and more people are expected this year.  I don’t want to over sell it (too late?), but if you have no plans, you should come.   You won’t be disappointed.  Yours truly (your’s truly?) will be bartending and clapping dancing.

I try to play music that everyone loves.  Is there some jam that when you hear it, makes you dance like a fool?  (my go to song is Flo Rida’s “Low“.  It turns me into a southern black man.  I love that song.)

That’s an excellent deal for open bar. Unfortunately, I’m going to be out of town.

(The boyfriend’s mom is taking me to see Rent, so I can’t complain *too* much!)

Oh yeah, by the way, you had a blogging party last week and then you don’t blog about it? What gives?

Total opposite ends of the spectrum… but “Jump Around” by House of Pain and “Apache” by the Sugarhill Gang. People just can’t help but jump up and down on the dance floor like total crazy idiots during those two songs. (OK… they make ME jump up and down on the dance floor like a total crazy idiot, anyway…) Then you can segway into “dance” songs and people are already hooked. No getting them off the floor after that.

The Halloween Bash was the best yet! I was part of the decoration crew. Has anyone seen my “Half Moon” hat? I left it at the lakehouse to retrieve when i came back today to take down the decoration. I heard that a girl named Tessa was wearing it around Albany. I’d really appreciate getting that hat back…i made it and it was a lot of work…
